How it works

How Sitehandle works.

Task-based ecommerce dev with QA on every deploy. 24-48 hour turnaround. Cancel anytime.

The problem

Why ecommerce dev keeps falling through

Run a Shopify or WooCommerce store doing $1M–$10M and you have hit some version of these three. They are why Sitehandle exists.

  1. The freelancer who ghosts

Halfway through a project the messages stop. You own half a build and a deadline, with no clear path forward.

  2. Bugs that ship to production

Work goes live with mistakes. Customers find them before you do. Every release becomes an audit and a hotfix.

  3. Tasks that drag for weeks

A simple checkout change becomes a two-week ticket. Velocity is the first casualty when dev is unreliable.

The lifecycle

What happens to your task

From the moment you submit to the moment it goes live. Same flow on every task.

  1. YOU

    Submit

You submit the task with goal, timeline, and any URLs we should look at.

    ~2 min
  2. Sitehandle

    Queue

Your task lands in the dashboard. We confirm receipt and start as soon as the queue is clear.

    < 1 hour
  3. Sitehandle

    Build

A developer picks up your task and works on staging. Production stays untouched while we build.

    Varies by scope
  4. Sitehandle

    QA

Every task passes the QA rubric before deploy. SEO, UX, performance, functionality. If something fails, we fix it before you ever see it.

    ~1 hour
  5. YOU

    Preview

You see the work on staging with a preview link. Approve or send revisions. We revise without limit until it’s right.

    Your call
  6. Sitehandle

    Deploy

Once you approve, we snapshot the site and ship to production. If anything goes sideways (rare), we roll back in minutes.

    ~10 min
  7. Monthly

    Analytics review

At month-end, we run a report covering what shipped, how it performed, and what task to do next.

    Monthly

The QA wedge

The rubric every task passes

Four dimensions, dozens of checks. Here’s the shape of what gets verified before a task ships to production.

SEO

  • Title and meta description preserved or improved
  • Schema markup intact (no broken JSON-LD)
  • Canonical and OG tags still pointing to the right URL
  • No accidental noindex or robots.txt block
  • Internal links not orphaned
  • and many more

UX

  • Mobile and desktop both render correctly (1440 desktop + 390 mobile baseline)
  • Tap targets at least 44px on mobile
  • No layout shift on load (CLS under 0.1)
  • Forms submit and validate on first try
  • Critical above-the-fold content visible without scroll
  • and many more

Performance

  • Lighthouse Performance score does not regress
  • Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5 seconds on mobile
  • No new render-blocking scripts introduced
  • Image weight checked (all images compressed and properly sized)
  • Cache headers preserved
  • and many more

Functionality

  • Checkout completes a test transaction end-to-end
  • Cart operations (add, remove, update quantity) work
  • Email triggers fire (order confirmation, abandoned cart)
  • Search and category filters function
  • All third-party integrations still authenticate
  • and many more

Frequently asked questions

What if a task is bigger than 1 task?
If a task is more than about 16 dev hours, we scope it as a multi-task project with a written delivery plan before any work starts. You see the plan and approve it before we touch your store.
Can I submit multiple tasks at once?
You can submit as many tasks as you want; we work on 1 at a time on Minimum and Standard tiers, 2 at a time on Scale. The rest queue. There's no penalty for queuing; all queued tasks still count toward your monthly subscription.
What if I'm not happy with a deploy?
You see the work on staging before it deploys to production. If you don't like it, send revisions in the dashboard. We revise without limit until it's right. We never deploy without your approval click.
How do I pause my subscription?
One click in the dashboard. Pause takes effect at your next billing date. Tasks in progress finish before the pause kicks in.
Do I need to know any code to use Sitehandle?
No. The dashboard takes plain-English task descriptions. The QA rubric and analytics report are written for store owners, not developers. Want technical detail? We give it to you. Don't want it? We don't bury you in it.
What if WordPress core or a plugin update breaks my site?
WordPress core, plugin, and theme updates are part of the subscription on Minimum and Standard tiers (sites we host). Updates run on staging first, regression-tested, then deployed to production. If something breaks despite the QA, we roll back and fix it as a normal task.
Can I use Sitehandle for a brand-new store build?
Yes, but full new builds (Shopify or WooCommerce from scratch) are scoped as a multi-task project. Most new builds take 4-8 tasks across 2-6 weeks depending on complexity. The subscription model still applies; you stay subscribed during and after the build for ongoing work.
